I will definitely find a topic to write on from the book for next week but first, we have to finish something we started a few weeks back, “What it means to be on the team.”  For those who may have missed the past few weeks or need a quick cheat sheet, we defined the team as a pyramid with each quality building and relying on the previous.  We started with accountability, respect, trust, and last week added loyalty. We finish off the pyramid with action.  Not just any type of action (writers note: I do believe any action is better than no action because of momentum but that’s for another day) but the action for the team is focused and purposeful action.  This is not random, this action has a goal in mind, something to accomplish or do together.  Something we would never be able to do by ourselves but need our team to get there effectively and efficiently.  This does not have to be some momentous task but could be as simple as supporting each other.

With all the pieces intact a new form of confidence is born.  Not solely self-confidence, but confidence in the team, confidence in making a change, confidence in the world.  You, as a person, are able to go out and do what you want to do, and accomplish what you want to accomplish, because you know you are never alone.  A basketball team is just one team to be a part of?  What about a family? What about your church group, volunteer group, or work group?  In the end, aren’t we all one big interconnected team in this world?  Wouldn’t the world be a better place if we all acted like it? TJW
